This was one of those projects where we had the idea first, and then we found the client.

Austin-based Liber & Co., maker of artisanal bar syrups, had amassed quite a collection of cocktail recipes—more than 800, in fact—but trying to find the exact one to satisfy your precise craving was a bit like looking for a particular grain of sand on the beaches of Sardinia.

Cue the trumpet flourish.

We fed all those recipes into AI; trained it to speak like Liber, the Dionysus of Italia—think Stanley Tucci, a tiny bit sloshed, wearing a toga—and a personalized cocktail engine called Chat with Liber was born.

• Dressed an actor as Liber and filmed him speaking and gesturing in a mix of ancient and anachronistic ways

• Cocktail recipes are created to any specifications, however obscure

• Each recipe is made with a Liber & Co. syrup, which you can buy through the link

• Chat with Liber in natural language for as long as you’d like
